With this photoshop smoke tutorial I’d like to show you how you can create nice smoke in photoshop cs2 without using plugins or the clouds filter.
There are some more photoshop tutorials available for smoke in photoshop but I think this tutorial will give you a the best result. This also works with older version of photoshop.

i think it was a good tutorial and a good effect. tutorials are as much about learning about the tools as they are about creating the effects (i have about 7 years experience in ps and still enjoy looking at tutorials to see what people do differently), so people complaining that it “doesnt look like smoke” dont really have a point, because its not in its setting (in a person’s hand in a bar or something), so its out of context. im sure if you put it in the right setting it would look sexy as hell. anyway, admin, good job and thanks for the tutorial!

thanks for your comment. It might not be “the best” smoke tutorial ever but I think it’s a very nice technique and a basis for experimentation.
And yes, it’s very subjective. Well, you can always get a smoke photo and use the levels to get rid of the background. This will lead to a more “real” smoke. But that’s a completely different approach. I will show that one some time

well i liked this tutorial and even if it was not in english i understood everything as the guy speaks
